A 100% Scottish owned company based in Dundee & Angus, C&S Offshore Services is actively supporting the growth of Local and Scottish National offshore Renewable Energy sector. The principles identified the need for a local bred company to invest and actively participate in Scotland’s future by way of supporting Renewable Energy projects, specifically offshore where our combined skillsets are best placed.

Mr. Bruce Cowie – Managing Director
Bruce’s offshore career has spanned from 1985 until 2019 (34 years) with the first 10 years being gainfully employed within the Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service. Bruce returned to nautical studies attending Maritime Colleges in the United Kingdom during 1995 and 1996 (Chief Officer) and post studies sailing as a Navigational Officer for 24 years. For 22 of those years, Bruce specialised as a Dynamic Positioning Operator/Senior Dynamic Positioning Operator (DPO/SDPO) in the Offshore Industry and obtained an unlimited DP Certificate of Competency. Bruce also worked on Buoyage vessels (maintenance to navigation), Dredgers and Platform Support vessels prior to the offshore industry.
Mr. James Sutherland – Operations Manager
James commenced his offshore career in 2009 working under the trainee development scheme from Offshore Marine Management, Bristol UK. After successfully completing several projects as part of the offshore installation team, he went on to work for such companies as Global Marine & Pyrsmian Powerlink increasing his knowledge and experience during his 2 years tenure, fulfilling a variety of roles. It is a credit to James skillset, that since his departure from Prysmian Powerlink in 2014, he has worked for many different companies continuously in the offshore industry with a career spanning over 10 years culminating in his promotions from dedicated Deck Foreman, Team Leader to most recent as a member of the Offshore Management Team, holding the project lead positions of both Offshore Manager & Shift Superintendent.
James has successfully undertaken projects Europe wide and additionally, has gained a better understanding of project requirements & complexities from his active participation within projects globally, in countries such as Canada, Dubai, Mexico, Bangladesh. James strong knowledge is founded within the submarine cable sector; Renewable Energies offshore. His experience is based upon ‘doing’ the physical works offshore which provides James a unique prospective as the C&S Offshore Services Operations Manager.
